This piece, created entirely by hand with coloured pencils and ink pen on Fabriano paper, is part of a series of portraits depicting iconic musicians. It pays tribute to James Hetfield, the vocalist and guitarist of Metallica, portrayed to convey explosive, angry, and almost animalistic energy. Hetfield’s past struggles with anger management are well-known, but without that anger, perhaps Metallica wouldn’t exist today.
