In this work, I wanted to represent a figure that rejects the very form of the puzzle. The act of tearing away pieces of the face comes from the idea of a personality that does not accept a predetermined order and goes so far as to destroy the very system through which I chose to represent it.
Antisocial personality disorder is associated with impulsivity, aggression, difficulty respecting social norms and a lack of empathy. That is why I chose a violent gesture directed against the face itself, as an image of a destructive impulse that compromises the subject’s own integrity as well.
The subject’s expression is designed to create a sense of unease. I wanted to evoke those signs of anger and danger that we are inclined to recognize immediately in others, even before we interpret them rationally.
