Lungarno degli Archibusieri represents one of the most recognizable views in the center of Florence, at the point where the city opens toward the Arno.
In this work, I was interested in the relationship between architecture, passage, and everyday life. The Uffizi corridor and the Lungarno are crossed every day by tourists and residents. They are extremely iconic spaces, but at the same time they are part of the city’s normal circulation.
The drawing comes from this double nature. On one side, Florence as a familiar image. On the other, Florence as a real place, where people walk, stop, and pass through, without necessarily looking at it as a monument.
