Sotto il Ponte began with an unusual perspective on Ponte Vecchio.
Ponte Vecchio is usually perceived as a place that belongs to everyone, always full of people and crossed by a constant flow. From this position, instead, it seems to belong only to the person looking at it. The city remains present, but it appears in the distance, through the buildings overlooking the Arno.
I was also interested in the detail of the gathered curtain. It suggests a human presence without showing it directly. In one of the most tourist-filled places in the world, that detail brings back an almost hidden everyday life.
The work required around 100 hours.
