For Pixel Marilyn, I chose an image connected to one of the most recognizable figures in twentieth-century cinema.

In the case of Marilyn Monroe, I was also interested in the distance between the public icon and the real person. The power of her image, so bright and immediately recognizable, coexisted with a much more private, less visible fragility, often hidden precisely by the strength of the myth.

In this sense, representing her in an almost stylized form felt even more appropriate. The portrait moves away from the real person and focuses on the public image: the Marilyn everyone recognizes before even wondering who was really behind it.
